Ceremony honors Blackfeet youth killed 200 years ago

The Blackfeet Nation of Montana held a ceremony in honor of two youth who were killed during an encounter with the Lewis and Clark expedition.

On July 27, 1806, a group of Blackfeet boys came upon the camp of Capt. Meriwether Lewis. One was knifed and another was shot in a dispute over horses, guns and other items.

The ceremony took place during a Lewis and Clark symposium hosted by the tribe. Organizers want to ensure the Blackfeet perspective of the expedition is told.
