Wyoming governor addresses meth at Wind River

Wyoming Gov. Dave Freudenthal (D) spoke on the Wind River Reservation on Wednesday to address the state's methamphetamine crisis.

Freudenthal said the state individual communities should develop anti-meth programs. He applauded the Eastern Shoshone Tribe and the Northern Arapaho Tribe for making the issue a priority.

"My thanks go to Arapaho and Shoshone leaders for their willingness to tackle such an inherently difficult issue head on," Freudenthal said, the Associated Press reported.

Federal authorities have laid charges against a total of 53 people for meth and drug rings that operated in and around the reservation.
