Pechanga Band reaches deal with IRS over tips

The Pechanga Band of Luiseno Indians has reached a deal with the Internal Revenue Service over tips at the tribe's casino.

Table game dealers must now pool their tips and distribute them equally. The IRS treats such tips as income and says it must be reported.

The Agua Caliente Band of Mission Indians has already instituted a similar policy. It's part of a campaign by the IRS to crack down on use of tribal gaming revenues and income generated at tribal casinos.
