Ramapough man shot by police officer to be buried

Funeral services will be held on Friday for Emil Mann, a member of the Ramapough Lenape Indian Nation who was shot by a New Jersey state park police officer.

Mann died on Monday, April 1, after being critically wounded in a shootout near the tribe's reservation. He would have turned 45 on Wednesday.

The incident is under investigation by the state attorney general. The county prosecutor has said the state police officers involved were out of line because the incident did not occur on state land.

The tribe, which is recognized by the state, has been shaken by the shooting.
