Opposition to bar near Bear Butte to continue

More demonstrations are being planned to protest a biker bar being built near sacred Bear Butte in South Dakota.

The bar would be located on private land just 2-1/2 miles north of Bear Butte. Lakota activists, tribes and their allies say the bar poses a threat to their religious freedom.

The Meade County Commission approved a beer license on Tuesday for the facility. Jay Allen, a businessman from Arizona, said his bar won't disturb people who go to Bear Butte to pray, make offerings and hold ceremonies.
