Young people await housing on Penobscot Nation

More than a dozen young people are on the waiting list for new housing on the Penobscot Nation in Maine.

The tribe is slated to begin work on the eight-unit apartment building. This is the first time tribe has been able to focus on the housing needs of young tribal members who live on Indian Island.

The Department of Agriculture's Rural Development program is providing about $1 million for the project.
