Sex offender bill on Navajo Nation Council agenda

A bill to require sex offenders who work, live or attend school on the Navajo Nation is set for debate next month by the Navajo Nation Council.

All offenders must register with the Navajo Nation chief of police even if the crime occurred off the reservation. The registry would include the nature of the offense and a work, home or school address.

The bill passed the Ethics and Rules Committee by a unanimous vote.
