Ralph Reed losing support in wake of Abramoff
Thursday, January 26, 2006

Ralph Reed, the conservative Christian activist who is running for lieutenant governor of Georgia, is losing support among Republicans in a poll conducted after Jack Abramoff pleaded guilty.

Reed's lead over state Sen. Casey Cagle, who has made Reed's ties to Abramoff an issue, has dwindled to 6 points. Before the guilty plea, his lead was 14 points. More voters also view Reed more unfavorably.

Reed was hired by Abramoff to oppose tribes in Texas and in Alabama. He was paid using gaming revenues from other tribes.
