Pombo gives Abramoff cash to Red Lake Boys & Girls

Rep. Richard Pombo (R-California), the chairman of the House Resources Committee, is donating $7,000 he received from disgraced lobbyist Jack Abramoff to the Boys & Girls Club on the Red Lake Reservation.

"The chairman, to avoid even the appearance of impropriety, decided that the money should go to a worthy cause within the Native American community," a spokesperson for the committee told The Stockton Record.

Pombo also donated $2,000 to the Boys & Girls Club in Tracy, California. The money had come from disgraced former Rep. Randy "Duke" Cunningham (R-California), who was forced to resign from Congress after pleading guilty to accepting bribes.
