Hopi Tribe election a landslide for chair, vice chair


Members of the Hopi Tribe of Arizona elected a new chairman and vice chairman in landslide votes.

For the post of chairman, Ivan Sidney Sr. defeated Wayne Taylor Jr. by a 64-36 percent margin. For vice chairman, Todd Honyaoma Sr. beat Phillip Quochytewa Sr. by a 59-41 margin.

Sidney is a former tribal chair. He is promising more communication with tribal members.

Honyaoma, a former council member, also says more communication is needed.
