Woman ejected from Pechanga Band in despair
Thursday, January 27, 2005
A woman who was disenrolled by the Pechanga Band of Luiseño Indians says her life has been ruined by the tribe.
Kimberly Sullivan traces her ancestry to a woman the tribe's enrollment committee says was not a real Pechanga. So she was taken off the rolls a year ago, losing a hefty per capita payment.
Since then, Sullivan said she was forced to sell her belongings. She says she cannot pay her rent and could end up homeless along with her 14-year-old daughter.
