Wyoming governor hopes for fresh start with tribes

Wyoming Gov. Dave Freudenthal (R) met with leaders of the Northern Arapaho Tribe and the Eastern Shoshone Tribe on Wednesday.

Relations between the state and the tribes have been strained in recent months. Freudenthal said he hopes the meeting, which took place on the Wind River Reservation, leads to a "fresh start" with the tribes.

Freudenthal and tribal leaders want to address common concerns, particularly law enforcement. Officials said methamphetamine is now a major problem on the reservation.
