Treasury Secretary Snow to stay in Bush Cabinet
Thursday, December 9, 2004

Treasury Secretary John W. Snow will remain in the job because the White House failed to find a suitable replacement, according to news reports.

Snow was the subject of speculation after Bush administration aides and Republican strategists said he was on the way out. But President Bush asked him to stay after a possible replacement turned down the job.

In other Cabinet news, Veterans Affairs Secretary Anthony J. Principi announced his resignation. He is the ninth department secretary to leave the administration.
