Homes headed to Rosebud Reservation delayed

Four excess military homes destined for the Rosebud Sioux Reservation in South Dakota have been delayed by harsh weather and other problems.

The Walking Shield American Indian Society organized the transfer of four units from the Ellsworth Air Force Base to the tribe. The cost of the effort was put at $56,000.

The donation will alleviate a shortage of housing on the reservation. Four families who have been waiting up to two to three years will finally have homes.
