Officers linked to Native teen's death challenge firing

Two officers in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, who were fired after being linked to the death of a Cree Native teen have filed appeals.

Bradley Senger and Larry Hartwig say they are not to blame for Neil Stonechild's death in 1990. But a government inquiry concluded that both men detained the 17-year-old on the last night he was seen alive. Stonechild was found a few days later with marks on his body "likely" caused by police handcuffs, the report said.

The police union backs the two men. The Native community supports the police chief's decision to fire them.
