Kucinich campaigned on Montana reservations


Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-Ohio) campaigned on six reservation this week in hopes of attracting more Indian voters, The Helena Independent Record reports.

Kucinich visited the Fort Belknap, Fort Peck, Northern Cheyenne, Rocky Boy, Blackfeet and Flathead reservations. During the tour, he was questioned by tribal leaders on various issues, including sovereignty, education, trust, gaming, Indian Health Service and homeland security. He did not visit the Crow Reservation.

In the Democratic primary on Tuesday, Kucinich came in second with 10 percent of the vote. Sen. John Kerry (D-Massachusetts) won 68 percent.
