Nebraska tribes may start another recall petition

Two Nebraska tribe might try to recall their county attorney after failing to turn in a petition on time earlier this week.

The Omaha Tribe was tasked with delivering the petition to the Thurston County courthouse. But tribal spokesperson Darren Wolfe got there too late.

The tribes oppose attorney Al Maul, saying he does not represent a county that is 52 percent Native American. Maul claims the Omaha Reservation has been diminished and signed onto a brief opposing tribal sovereignty in the U.S. v. Lara case.
