Te-Moak Tribe threatens to remove dozens

Dozens of people are facing disenrollment from the Te-Moak Tribe of Western Shoshone Indians of Nevada.

Among those facing disenrollment is former chairman Felix Ike, who said he and 31 members of his family received letters and were told to appear before the tribe's membership committee with documentation of their heritage. So far, no one has been removed from the rolls.

The tribal council recently changed the enrollment requirement to limit membership to those listen on an 1937 census and their descendants. Some contend the move is illegal and are re circulating a recall petition against several council members.
