College chooses interns for tribal historian program


The Fort Lewis College Center of Southwest Studies has chosen four interns nationwide for a training program in archiving.

Interns will receive instruction in collection development, records management, preservation, arrangement and description, reference service, access, outreach, career development and computer application. The participants will apply the techniques to tribal projects.

The 2004 interns are Loretta Metoxen of the Oneida Nation of Wisconsin; Shawna Ethelbah of the White Mountain Apache Tribe of Arizona; June Degnan of the Sitka Tribe of Alaska; and Mariah Clara Cuch of the Whiteriver Ute Tribe of Utah.
