The city manager in Boulder, Colorado, has apologized to American Indians whose sweat lodge was broken up by the police on New Year's Eve.
Lakota spiritual leader Robert Cross had permission for the sweat lodge, which he has held for years. But police broke it up because they said participants didn't have a permit for a bonfire.
City manager Frank Bruno met with members of the American Indian Movement of Colorado and said he would put his apology into writing.
