Drug problem said to be behind reservation drive-bys

A joint tribal-state-federal crackdown on a worsening drug problem is said to have fueled a series of drive-bys on the Red Lake Reservation in Minnesota.

Shots were fired at the homes of tribal police officers, police headquarters and the jail last Saturday. No one was injured but residents say there is a climate of fear on the reservations.

The tribe and the FBI are offering rewards totaling $40,000 for information leading to arrests.
