Oglala Sioux Tribe looks for ways to trim budget

The Oglala Sioux Tribe of South Dakota is hoping to avoid a repeat of last year's emergency spending restrictions by looking for ways to trim the budget now.

The tribe was forced to make layoffs and reduce salaries during the holiday season of 2003. All employees have been rehired and salaries are back to normal but tribal finance officials will be meeting today and tomorrow to start making cuts.
