The Mohegan Tribe has lured an entertainment venue from its current home at the neighboring Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation.

COMIX will be opening next month at Mohegan Sun. A top executive hailed the arrival of the comedy club and bar.

"We are extremely excited to be partnering with COMIX, an alignment of two of the strongest names in the entertainment industry," Bobby Soper, a tribal member who serves as CEO of the Mohegan Tribal Gaming Authority, said in a press release.

What wasn't mentioned was COMIX's current spot at the nearby Foxwoods Resort Casino. But the schedule makes clear that the last show at Foxwoods will occur October 4, three days before the debut of the club at Mohegan Sun.

"We’re thrilled to become a part of Mohegan Sun. We’re looking forward to bringing more programming of laughs and the best live comedy experience to New England’s most exciting gaming and entertainment destination," Michael Brauth, a partner at COMIX, said in the press release.

The two tribes are partners in a third potential casino in the state.
