The Red Lake Nation in Minnesota won't be offering alcohol at its casinos after members voted down the issue in a referendum on Wednesday.

According to preliminary results posted by Red Lake Nation News, 54 percent of voters said no to alcohol sales at the Seven Clans Casino in Thief River Falls and another in Warroad. A third facility in Red Lake was not covered by the referendum but residents there overwhelmingly opposed liquor.

Secretary Donald Cook supported the referendum. He said two other tribes in the state offer liquor at the casinos without any issues.
