The Mandan, Hidatsa and Arikara Nation of North Dakota is spending $47 million to expand its casino, KFYR reports.

The tribe is adding an events center to the 4 Bears Casino and Lodge in New Town. The 85,000 square-foot area with seating for up to 4,000 people, enables the facility to bring in bigger entertainment acts.

The old event center is being converted into a 400-seat ballroom. There will also be a smoking area with 100 slot machines.

"We decided that were going to come out with not just a small look, but really go all out," general manager Patrick Packineau told KFYR.

The events center is due to open by July 2016. The revamped gaming area will open in August.
