The Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians in North Carolina plans to open a new casino by August or September of this year.

The $110 million Harrah’s Cherokee Valley River Casino & Hotel is located just outside the town of Murphy in Cherokee County. The facility will feature a 108,000 square-foot gaming floor and a 300-room hotel.

With an opening on the horizon, the tribe is holding a job fair on March 16 to start filling more than 800 positions that will be available at the casino. The tribe needs 16 weeks to train people for table game and surveillance jobs so the hiring process needs to start soon.
