Report: Eastern Cherokees were overcharged for services at casino

The Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians was overcharged for information technology services at its casino, tribal officials said.

The Harrah's Cherokee Casino was overbilled a total of $2.7 million by the Harrah's Entertainment corporate office. The mistake was noticed by tribal regulators.

The tribe will be reimbursed $4.1 million, with half of the money to be distributed to members as part of a future per capita payment.
