The National Indian Gaming Commission has extended the comment period on its Class II regulations and will hold a public hearing to discuss the proposed changes.
The comment period on the two regulations ends September 30, 2006, the NIGC said in a Federal Register notice published today.
The hearing takes place at 10am on September 19, 2006, at the Interior Department's auditorium in Washington, D.C.
The two regulations define how Class II games will be classified. Tribes oppose the rules, saying they will hurt their ability to offer certain electronic casino machines without a tribal-state compact.
