The battle for a chance to build a casino in Rhode Island is gearing up again, with the Narragansett Tribe and partner Harrah's Entertainment apparently headed for a showdown against Donald Trump.
The tribe and Harrah's want to change the state constitution to allow their $1 billion facility Trump has stepped into the game with a proposed $750 million casino near the Massachusetts border.
Gov. Donald Carcieri (R) has been fighting the tribe's proposal for years. But he is now calling for a "competitive bidding" process in a move that could open up the field to Trump.
