Listening Lounge: Senate hearing on IGRA bill

The Senate Indian Affairs Committee held a hearing this morning on S.2078,
the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act Amendments of 2005.
The hearing focused on provisions that would require the National Indian Gaming Commission to review all types of gaming and gaming-related contracts. Currently, the agency only has the authority to review management contracts.
The hearing also touched on provisions that would affirm NIGC's regulation over Class III gaming. A recent court decision said that role was left to tribes and state through the compacting process but the bill would overturn the ruling.
You can listen to MP3 audio files of the hearing. Or you can view the webcast on the committee's site.:
