The Cowlitz Tribe of Washington says the environmental impact statement on its proposed casino won't be ready until mid-February 2006 due to extensive comments submitted by members of the public.
The newly recognized tribe wants to build $510 million resort with a 134,150-square-foot gaming floor, 3,000 video lottery terminals, 135 gaming tables and 20 poker tables, along with 215,685 square feet of restaurant, retail and public space. A hotel and convention space are also in the plans.
The facility would be located on 152 acres the tribe wants to be placed in trust. Analytical Environmental Services is preparing the environmental impact statement on the project.
