Tribe's casino partner gave to Schwarzenegger

The gaming partner for a California tribe seeking to build a non-reservation casino gave $100,000 to Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger but the money will be returned.

Three months ago, Chicago investor G.R. Forsythe made a $50,000 donation to Schwarzenegger but it was returned after the Associated Press noted Forsythe's involvement with the Estom Yumeka Maidu Tribe on the Enterprise Rancheria.

Just last week, Forsythe made another $100,000 donation but the Schwarzenegger campaign quickly said it wouldn't be accepted. Schwarzenegger doesn't accept money from tribes, unions or other "special interest" groups that negotiate with the state.

The Enterprise Rancheria is seeking local approval to build a casino in Yuba County. The effort is opposed by two newly wealthy tribes who have signed compacts with Schwarzenegger.
