A hearing began on Tuesday over the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians' application for a permanent liquor license at its casino.
The state Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control says the tribe should be given the license.
But neighbors say the sale of liquor will lead to more problems in the community.
State Judge John McCarthy has scheduled two more days of hearings. He repeatedly criticized the protesters for the way they presented their arguments, according to news reports.
