Lawmakers in Ulster County, New York, unanimously passed a resolution that bars off-reservation casinos in seven communities and in any community that takes an anti-casino stand in the future.
A second resolution bars the county from entering into a deal for an off-reservation casino without the approval of the host community. The vote was unanimous.
The measures are seen as roadblocks to the Seneca-Cayuga Tribe of Oklahoma, which is considering a casino in Saugerties, near the site of the 1994 Woodstock concert.
