The state of Kansas is threatening to sue the Sac and Fox Nation over a disagreement about slot machine inspections at the tribe's casino.
The state and the tribe are in arbitration over the inspections. But state attorney general Phill Kline gave a deadline of March 4 to resolve the matter before going to court.
The inspections are allowed under the tribal-state compact. Kline said he may have to ask the court to declare the tribe in breach of the compact.
