Indian inmates fight over Lumbee recognition
Two Indian inmates were treated for injuries after they fought over recognition for the Lumbee Tribe of North Carolina.

Kenryn Lee McMillian, 26, a member of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians, apparently told Frederick Sherman Locklear, 24, a member of the Lumbee Tribe, that the Lumbees aren't entitled to recognition. The Eastern Cherokees oppose legislation to recognize the Lumbees.

Both men were being held in Robeson County, which is home to the Lumbee headquarters.
