Pojoaque Pueblo plans community kitchen

Pojoaque Pueblo in northern New Mexico is laying plans for a commercial community kitchen that will help small businesses.

Vicente Roybal, the tribe's director of agricultural resources, said he was motivated by the success of commercial kitchens elsewhere in the state. He said local businesses will be able to use the facility to make and market their products.

"It will be a business incubator," Roybal told The Santa Fe New Mexican. "We'll help small businesses in a variety of ways, like drawing up business plans, designing labels and marketing their product."

The tribe is conducting a feasibility study for a $2.2 million commercial kitchen.
